Getting started with Spiritual Gifts
The Spiritual Gifts module helps you move people from the pews into ministry. This guide walks you through getting it ready and sending it to your first group.
What the assessment is
It's a 112-question assessment that combines a spiritual gifts inventory with a DISC personality profile. People take it on their phone in about 20 minutes, and it's free for your congregation. The result isn't a generic PDF that gets filed in a drawer — it's a specific placement recommendation tied to the ministry seats your church actually has open.
Three things to set up first
- Customize the assessment to your theological tradition. You can adjust the framing and language so the results read naturally to your people rather than feeling like a one-size-fits-all quiz.
- Define and connect your open ministry seats. List the teams and roles you're actually trying to fill — this is what makes the output an invitation instead of a report.
- Decide who gets it first. A small, willing group (a class, a team, your existing volunteers) is the easiest way to see the whole flow end to end before a wider rollout.
What people experience
Someone opens the link on their phone, answers the questions honestly, and at the end sees their gifts, their DISC profile, and — because you connected your seats — a recommended place to serve. That recommendation is the whole point.
Connect at least a handful of real open seats before you send the assessment to anyone. Without seats, people get a profile but no invitation, and the momentum stalls.
Once your first group has finished, head to reading the results to see how to interpret a profile and turn it into a placement.
