The livestream revival era of stadium gatherings and ministry schools. Michael Koulianos was born in Tarpon Springs, Florida, raised Greek Orthodox, came to Christ at 12 and began preaching regularly at 16. He traveled for years with his father-in-law, evangelist Benny Hinn, then founded Jesus Image in Orlando in 2007 and later Jesus Image Church. His secret: he preaches one person, not a topic. Every sermon, whatever the text, ends up at the same place: “If you’re wondering what God is like, look no further than Jesus Christ of Nazareth.” He spends the first part of the hour stirring hunger with a pastoral charge and his own testimony. Then he puts the Bible in his members’ hands at the microphone, walks a chain of verses, and defines everything (glory, manhood, humility, greatness) by the cross. He mixes holy fear with quick, self-mocking humor and closes with his longest personal story or a call to give Jesus everything.
